Self portrait is my favorite genre in painting, but seems less frequent in photography. Moreover, many are vain attempts dissimulating narcissic postures. Here are some I like, some by known artists (Bill Brandt, Joel-Peter Witkin and Robert Mapplethorpe) other less or even unknowns. They all say something deep about human self-seing.
