Tierney Gearon - I am a camera
These pictures are from the I am a camera series by the US born photograph Tiernay Gearon (see her site here) who had some problems with authorities and censorship when this was exhibited in London in 2001. These pictures of her son and her daughter were seen as outrageous by all the pervert bigotry of the land but not censored. Sure that in France it would have been censored much more brutally. This series, contrary to the one by Sally Mann, has no sensuality in it but often produces a sort of malaise mixed with jubilation, and also a surrealistic atmosphere. All this in taking pictures of her children, like do million of people. It's the proof that she's a great artist.
