Krijn van Noordwijk - Portraits

Krijn van Noordwijk is not your average portrait photomaker. He's never trivial or common, and sometimes he transcends the genre as painting only seemed to be able to. In these images, models seem to participate to the scenography and that's surely why these shots are so unpredictable, not being the fetichist obsession (some may say the style) of the photographer. He's from Nederland, and seems to have some notoriety there. Here is a selection of my favorite ones. Some are rather disturbing (the first one with the baby, some portraits of apparently ill models). They have the intrinsic quality not be euphemistic and it's for me one of the most important thing in art. Here his blog and there a gallery to see more.
