Jacob Aue Sobol - Home
This Danish photographer, born in 1976, has traveled throughout the world during decades (from Canada to Japan through Greenland). His work is characterized by a rude and crude relation with reality. Much more Miron Zownir than the usual stuff, but always a personal involvement that reminds me Antoine d'Agatta. Here, he went back, after these decades on the roads, to his native country, Denmark, and he took pictures of his relatives. They are as rude and crude than the ones he took in the other parts of the planet. They show life's cycles without embellishment. It's important to read his statement on his site here. A crucial addition to these images.
