Patrick Nicholas - Belle

Patrick Nicholas is a UK-born (in 1952), Italy-living photographer, who digs for several years now the path of adapting famous "odalisques" painted by ancient masters for photography. He's not the only one to do it, and I posted some other ones on Scoptophilia previously. It may seem kitsch to many, and maybe it is, but I like it. Take it for a guilty pleasure. Here, the apparent mainstream fashion magazine visual technics of the pictures is attenuated by humour. And also beauty of the models' bodies I must say. And it's always some kind of intellectual stimulation to guess which painting each image imitates. More to see on his site here and his blog there.
