Ali Lomas - To Be Beautiful
Ali Lomas is a young English photographer born in 1986 and who entered the National Portrait Gallery with some of her cliches called "To be beautiful", catching (in a cinematographic and not documentary way) people (mainly young women) in a moment of "unspoken drama". The statement of the photograph is maybe a little overwordy for a simple series based on the intrusion of the viewer eye in a moment where you are in total introspective mood, and seen previously notably here with the great series of Alec Dawson, and the inclination for the fashion-universe is a little too much "evident" but I can't deny the intrinsic quality of these pictures (and the fact my sentences are too long).
