Robert Gaudette - Temples

His bio stipulates he's born in 1972 in Canada and is a full-time portrait photographer since 2007. But what's interesting is that in this very recent series (he says "his first show") he succeeds in doing something singular and original in a very crowdy genre, the hieratic black and white female nudes that seem to mimic dance choregraphy, a genre I'm not usually very fond of. Why does he succeed when so many fail? I don't know. Maybe this little Bill Brandt thing in his images, or maybe because these bodies seem real and not skin statues. Anyway, this is a fine way to close a day with a scoptophilian pleasure. His site here
