Aimée Egérie - Femme fatale

Aimée Egérie has a French-sounding name but seems to be a German woman. Aimée Egérie is a model (see here and there) but also a photographer doing selfies. Aimée Egérie does face selfies but most often vulva (and butt) selfies. In black and white, these shots are no-less than strongly erotic and exciting and aesthetic and moving. For anyone that is in love with female anatomy it is surely the most wonderful "paysage" ever seen. Up to you to consider this as out of place on Scoptophilia or not but tonight this is my present mood so I post it. All these images can be found on her other tumblr blog called Femme fatale (here), the reason for the title of this post.

Ren Hang - Hommage

It seems that the Chinese photographer and poet Ren Hang killed himself today (at least we are informed today). He was in Berlin, and had an exhibition of his work at the Amsterdam gallery, although he lived in Beijing. The reason of his killing is not known at the time but in September 2016 he began on his site (here) a text about his depression that may provide some elements of answer. Scoptophilia had a post 4 years ago about him (here). Since then I had gathered pictures from him but never did another post. Sad that I do it as an hommage for his death. He was only 30 and now I consider dying young as a complete waste of talent and a great loss for art. When I was in my 20's I considered that as romantic, being aware of the fact that you are creative only in your youth. Ren Hang approach of photography was not my favorite one but this was certainly an important element of the long and difficult road to the abolition of any censorship about nudity and individual personal sexual behavior, although sex was not really present in his work. There was an intriguing absence of hedonism  in his images that were more using bodies as objects than really making them alive. Here above I chose a little selection of his images. I chose the ones with the largest dimensions.

Mishima San - Scars and ropes

I'm not in bondage and I rarely post pictures with females tightened rope but here the work on the texture of the image (seemed to have been shot in the XIXth century by Indians) decided me to post this series. And first of all, I posted for the pictures of females with scars. Strange that I didn't find anything about this photographer except his (or her but I bet it's a male) tumblr site (here). More and more often, I only find such a site as source of a phtographer's identity and it's a pity not to have more abut him or her. If Mishima San reads these lines and want to provide some more infos, he's welcome.

Sebastian Gherrë - Various

Sebastian Gherrë is a (rather) young photographer from Chile, working mostly on male-with-male sexuality (I decide not to use "gay" since this is a too much reductive categorization of what we see on the images, males having sex with other males or masturbating, or being naked. There is a long interview from him (see below) but it's in spanish and I don't understand. Maybe you can (thinking about all the spanish-speaking visitors). You'll probably find easily the influences of this photographer so no need to cite them here (most of them feature in posts on Scoptophilia). I feel there's something more in these pictures. I mean a real exaltation of every body functions (ejaculating, pissing) and sexual activities. Maybe, once again, this male-with-male imagery is lacking of hedonism (strange that gay sex is rarely associated with joy or even some manifestation of excitation, intensity like heterosexual sex is, at least sometimes). But all in all, it's a mandatory presence in Scoptophilia. His blog here.

Dmitry Akimov - Various

Once again, I must admit I don't know anything about this russian photographer. Based on the pictures of him I found on this site (here), it seems he's in his late fifties. His style could be considered as erotic and rather mainstream (the light is soft and beautiful but I'm fed up with these pefect juvenile female bodies) but some of his series are stronger and more iconoclasts (skull, murder, food, all good tools). It's of course these ones I decided to post here. There's this so singular and exciting body freedom and energy in nudity that we find in russian photography and that we miss so much in our western christian-rooted societies. In these times of prudery, it's a welcome way to visually shout that skin, flesh and body fluids are wonderful and desirables.
